Being a professional gun dog trainer I get the opportunity to see many dogs and breeds. I personally enjoy the German Shothair. I have had the pleasure of training several dogs from several different litters that Blitz has sired, and pups from the next generation. Along with pups from Heidi as well. All of the puppies I have trained were basically turn key pups as I call them. They just needed some bird exposure and basic obedience and they were on their way to being very good gun dogs and companions. They are very biddable, have a lot of desire, point very stylish, very intelligent, and easy to train. The majority of the pups were off and hunting wild birds at 5-6 months of age after I was done training them. They have a very nice natural retrieve. The dogs that people have chosen to have trained to an advanced level have excelled very nicely, handled the pressure with no negative results.
I also have trained with Howie and Blitz preparing for all of his tests venues and he was quick to learn. Handling the pressure and would sit and lick your face at the end of the day.
